After the end of the war Karl purchased his first truck, which was powered by charcoal. Not long afterwards his young wife Catarina took over the deliveries and together the couple purchased a second vehicle.

In the 1950s the company began to specialise in gravel quarrying and founded a gravel extraction plant at the mouth of the river Falschauer in Lana. Thus the foundation for today’s Beton Lana GmbH was laid. In the 1960s the gravel works were gradually extended.  The move into producing ready mix concrete came about as a result of the construction boom at the time. 

The innovative spirit of “Kathi” and Karl Schwienbacher carries on to the present day in the outlook of their sons, Josef and Thomas. Under their leadership Beton Lana GmbH has, since 1986, developed into a ready mix concrete specialist.

With the introduction of the UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 quality system in 2000, Beton Lana moved to the cutting edge in terms of quality management and company culture.

The investment in 2003 in a new, state-of-the-art concrete plant with compulsion mixing technology marked a significant milestone in the manufacture of quality concrete to the latest technical criteria.

The new company headquarters in Lana and a professional laboratory are both results of the way in which the business has flourished.

A targeted advertising campaign and the more extensive use of Beton Lana’s distinctive Indian logo are an expression of the company’s growing market presence. New methods of communication and further investments in technology and research both herald a continuing expansion of the company into the 21st century.
